We have a TEENAGER in the house!

This is what I got when I said she couldn't go over to her friends house until after we had dinner. She graced us with her loveliness at the table, but refused to eat. She did crack a very reluctant smile after I told her she had to eat five bites before she could go.

Oh, Kenzie we LOVE YA!

CLUELESS!

The other night Kenzie, Ashton and I went clothes shopping. The girls found lots of cute clothes and jewlery and Kenzie even got a pair of purple "skinny jeans." She was SO EXCITED with all of her new clothes that as soon as we got home she called everyone into the living room so they could see what she bought.
That night after we got the girls all tucked into bed, Lee sat me down in the living room and said (very seriously) "I DON'T get it. I have never been around girls this age. What is the BIG DEAL about getting new clothes? I feel like a bad Dad because I was just like 'BIG WHOOP', a new pair of jeans." Poor Lee, he grew up in a house full of boys, six to be exact, and now he is in a house full of girls. He really is CLUELESS about all the girlie stuff. I did my best to explain the joys of shopping...he just shook his head and went to bed. But the next morning-bless his heart- he made a HUGE deal about Kenzie's purple skinny jeans and how cute she looked, and how cute her hair was, and how he loved her shoes.....
What a great DAD! We sure do LOVE you. :)

The Kazoo

My girls are so musically inclined. Kenzie plays the flute, Addy the piano and Gracie the Kazoo. She made this cute little instrument in pre-school and was so excited to play "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" for me. Aaahh such cuteness.

Enjoying The Little Things

It seems the older my kids get the more hectic life seems to become. Sometimes at the end of the day, when everyone is in bed and the house is quiet I look back on the day and can't seem to remember the "Little Things." I get so consumed with homework, swim lessons, dance lessons, piano lessons, housework, laundry, cooking....really this list could go on and on. My girls are growing so fast and I don't want to miss a thing.....So I have decided that I am going to slow down and take time to enjoy the "Little Things."

I am going to wrestle with her.

And read books and play Littlest Pet Shops.

And I am going to play Skip Bo with her.

and stay up late at night and watch movies and eat ice cream in my bed. (Daddy can sleep in her bed.)
And I am going to play "Speed with her.

And listen to her crazy music and sing on Guitar Hero so she can perfect her sweet guitar skills.
And I am going to laugh and make some memories and Enjoy the Little Things with Kenzie, Addy and Gracie. And all that other stuff.....well it will still be there.

Our Girls!

This is what it's all about!
I am SO excited to finally have a blog.
I have wanted one for months.
It was one of my New Year Resolutions to get this thing up and going.
So this is my journal... my autobiography. This is me recording the story of OUR life...our wonderful little BUCK FAMILY life!
