It was Kenzies 14th birthday February 8th and in true Kenzie fashion she had a weekend of celebrations. On Friday she had 12 friends over for her "friend" party. They went on a scavenger hunt at the mall. We split the girls into 3 group of four. Each group had a digital camera and I gave them a list of things they had to find. The whole group had to be in each picture and every time they passed the birthday girl they had to sing "Happy Birthday" as loud as they could. They had TONS of fun trying on all kinds of crazy things, like five inch high heel shoes, the ugliest prom dress they could find, a bra over their shirts. And they got bonus points for doing cartwheels down the middle of the mall, holding a boys hand and helping someone carry their bags. They were great sports and let me tell you some of those girls are NOT shy!
After the scavenger hunt we came back to our house for dinner, more games, cake and ice cream and of coarse presents. Kenzie was thrilled to rake in about $145 in gift cards to American Eagle and Aeropostale. Can we say SPOILED.And what girly girl party would be complete without a little bit of toilet papering!
For successful toilet-papering one must apply black under the eyes and wear a hoodie. Um....it really doesn't work. The first house they went to they got BUSTED!The boys were good sports though, they gathered up all of the toilet paper and returned the favor! Being the dead of winter and the fact that we don't have any mature trees they toilet papered our deck! Good thinking!
I was supposed to have the girls home by 11 but they were having so much fun, they just lost track of time. I finally called Kenzie on her cell phone and told her she had to come home, the police were here and wanted to talk to them. (HeHeHe, I'm so mean). She didn't act 14 then!
I didn't have the heart to keep up the charade so I fessed up and told her it was time to
wrap it up.
They all had a blast!
She has some great friends, they are cute girls!
Saturday she hung out with friends all day and then went to the Aggie basketball game.
And Sunday we went to church, I made her favorite meal, chicken pillows, mashed potatoes (no gravy) and corn. We had her "family" party and then she went to a fireside.
All in all a fun weekend and she is worth every bit of it.
I can't believe she is 14 years old.
We love you Kenzie and are so proud of you! We are so blessed to have you in our family.
You truly are the most amazing daughter and big sissy ever!
And just cause I can I had to post a picture of little Kenzie on her 1st Birthday!
