11

My sweet Addy turned 11 on September 6th!
She didn't get everything on her cute little list, but she did get all things cowgirl and a bow & arrow.

She had a fun party with her friends.

And Lee took her horseback riding...that is why there are no pictures of her
very most favorite birthday present.
So far she said her 11th birthday was the best one ever!
Love that girl.

More "If you give"...

If you give a Mom some quiet time to take a bubble bath, she will grab a book (any book really, cause she knows she will never be able to finish it.) and make a mad dash for the bathtub.
She will start the hot water and pour half a bottle of Warm Vanilla Sugar bubble bath into the steaming water.
She will hear the phone ring. Look longingly at the bathtub and decide to answer the phone because it might be one of her beautiful daughters.
She will answer the phone and hear the voice of Beautiful Daughter Number Three asking her to PLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEE bring her library books that she forgot to school.
The Mom will look at the clock. Yipee, she could still soak in a bubble bath for an hour before the books have to be at school.
She promises Beautiful Daughter Number Three she will have those books on her desk by 11 a.m.
She will hang up the phone and grab the books and stick them in her purse so she won't forget them.
CRAP, there is only one book.
She will go down to Beautiful Daughter Number Three's bedroom to search for the other book.
Oh my... she will tsk, tsk at the messy state of BDNT's bedroom. She will grab the book from the nightstand...and an armful of laundry.
She will decide to quickly throw in a load of laundry, because the pile is now taller than she is.
She will get that load started and look around the laundry room and decide to quickly take the piles of neatly folded laundry and distribute them to Beautiful Daughters One, Two and Three's bedrooms. She won't put the clothes away (cause that is the Daughter's jobs). She will gently lay them on the unmade beds.
Then she will move the laundry, make the beds, and then place the laundry back on the beautifully made beds. She will grab more laundry that is posing as carpet and dump that in the laundry room.
She will put her hands on her hips and expell a deep breath and start to sort the mountain.
When that is finally complete she will head on upstairs and put a pile of linens away.
Then she will hear a noise and swear....twice!
She will run to the bathroom just in time to see the water reach the carpet of her bedroom.
She will keep repeating the word "crap", cause her windows are open and she doesn't want her neighbors to hear her curse (they have small children and he is a Seminary teacher).
She will get the water and bubbles all soaked up. Let some water out of the bathtub, take off her robe, and step into Heaven. As she does this she will look at the clock. She will step OUT of Heaven, put her clothes on and take BDNT's library books to her....just as they are walking out of their class for Library time.
She will head home, take a SHOWER and wash 10 loads of towels.

Back to school

I know it's a little late...
But it take's me a long time to get back into "School Mode."
Summer went by WAY, WAY to fast.
 And I miss it already.
I wasn't ready to send my girls back to school. I wasn't ready to turn on my alarm clock. I wasn't ready for a bedtime.
I wasn't ready to have a senior, a fifth grader and a third grader.

*Big Sigh*

But here we are.
If those beautiful girls can smile about it, I will too!
Here's to another great school year!!!

Birthday Wishes

A couple of nights ago I found this cute little note on my pillow.
I was so excited! Thinking one of my girls left me a love note. Expressing their great love for me and letting me know what an awesome, amazing Mom I am.....
I opened it with a "oh I am such a lucky mom" smile on my face.
Oh...
Not a love note, but a birthday wish list.
And a very detailed, specific one at that.

I'm so glad I only have to pick a couple and by couple I mean one.
Anyone 7 want 7 to 7 guess 7 what 7 number 7 I 7 pick.

If you give...

the oldest child some Easy Cheese she will become bored with simply spreading it on crackers and eating it. She will seek out her younger sisters and sweetly ask if they would like a cheesy goatee and unibrow.
Middle sister will want a simple yet dainty rap industry standard goatee, and a taste. Mmmmmm....nope she doesn't appear to be enjoying it the way Kraft intended.

Youngest sister will be delighted with a full-on-boxed-beard and matching unibrow topped off with the empty can crown of glory.

Oldest sister will be very proud of her sister make-overs and proudly present them to the oh-so-proud Mom.

 Littlest sister couldn't be happier.

But little dog is the happiest of all!

Gibbons Farm

This is where my girls and their friends have been spending lots & lots of time this summer!
This is also where they learn lots & lots of...stuff.
They have seen baby goats being born, baby horses being made and then those baby horses moments after they were born taking their first steps.

They get to ride the horses, feed all the animals, (there are chickens, a big ol' turkey and a pig named Wilbur) decorate and tidy up their pens and just have FUN!
I even got to be the BEST MOM EVER when I said they could keep the little baby kitty....at the farm.

It sure does bring back memories of my childhood growing up on a farm.
But the girls did express their disgust at the way baby goats were born.
Addy: "Mom, she just pushed that baby right out of her butt. It was SOOOOOO gross! And then she started LICKING it."
Gracie: "Yeah, it was SO GROSS."
Then she got this horrified look on her face and visibly shuddered as she spoke these next words.
"Wait.....Mom is that how you had us?????"

More Addy Greatness

Addy ran the Wellsville Mile this year and I am SUPER proud of her for doing it!
I love this picture because it shows how nervous she was to actually compete.
She ran every day during school and NEVER, ever complained.
That is why she got this...
The Sportsmanship Award!
They only give ONE of these awards per grade/per school!
Her time was 10:29, which was faster then her best practice time and she came in 69th Place Overall!
She Rocks!
She got to spend the day hanging out with her two BFF's Megan and Emma.

And her awesome teacher Mrs. Panter.
That was my first experience with the Wellsville Mile and I loved it. It was neat to see members of the MC Track Team run up beside a runner that was struggling and cheer them on! Even the kids were cheering for EVERYONE!
It was an awesome day! But having the opportunity to hang out with my daughter all day was priceless! I just love that girl!

Soccer

This year Addy played soccer, which totally shocked me. She played when she was five and that was good enough for her. I have asked her every year and I always get the same answer (most of the time before I even finish the question)...NO!
But this year she ASKED if she could play. I'm glad she did. It was fun to watch her.
She's not aggressive, would NEVER play goalie and didn't really care if they won.
But she did her very best at every game and she had fun.
And she sure is cute!
Way to go Addy.

Holidays in a nutshell

Thanksgiving
We had dinner with Lee's family, which was very nice, since they were serving their mission last year. We are blessed to have both families in the valley, making it easy to travel between his family and mine.
_______________
Christmas
Came and went in a blur.
We went to SLC with our great friends The Bradley's and McNeil's to spend the afternoon at The Christmas Box House. It was a humbling, heartbreaking and beautiful experience...all at the same time

We went to Temple Square to see the lights. It was TOTALLY FREEZING!!! But we still had a great time.
Our elf friend Buddy returned and helped keep the girls in line (riiiiiigggghhhhhtttt).
But his stay at our house DID help get the girls out of bed every morning. It was a race to see who could find him first.
I really LOVED attending Church on Christmas day. Our Sacrament meeting was at 1 p.m. so the girls had plenty of time to open presents (since they got up at 3 a.m.).
I felt like that sent a completely different tone for the rest of the day. It was a little more peaceful, a little less materialistic and filled with the blessings of love and family!
__________
New Year's Eve
Was quiet! This was the first year in six that we did not host or attend a party. And it was nice and relaxing! Kenzie had a date, so Lee and I took the little girls out to a movie and ice cream. We came home, Lee zonked out and me and the girls brought in the New Year together...quietly.
